American Fashion Designer Ralph Lauren was born in Bronx, New York in 1939 as Ralph Lipschitz. He wore expensive suits made from fine materials and was known to be very stylish at an early age. At age 16, Ralph legally changed his name from Lipschitz to Lauren, which he proclaimed was a necessity of success. Ralph Lauren briefly studied business at City College Manhatten but never received a degree. He dropped out and began to work as an entrepreneur designing ties and men's clothing. Ralph Lauren worked day and night to turn his great success into a fashion empire. Presently, he is known all over the world as a premier American Fashion Designer with his relaxed styles for both men and women.
